PEGGI PRESTON, REGIONAL DIRECTOR

Peggi joined Special Olympics Ventura County in November of 2003. She has almost 20 years experience in nonprofit fundraising and volunteer management, and has worked for other notable organizations as the American Cancer Society, Hathaway Children's & Family Services, Pet Orphans Fund, and the National Childhood Cancer Foundation.

Peggi is directly responsible for the overall administrative and fundraising functions of SOVC and issues relating to budget and finances.

"Between the ever shrinking funding pools and the rising cost of petroleum, it has become a challenge to raise the funds necessary to meet all of the expenses relevant to the type of quality sports programs that we offer," Peggi says. "But when I see an athlete running down a track with the biggest smile on their face, or see how much they enjoy working with law enforcement officers at a Tip-A-Cop event, it is worth all the worry and hard work!"

Peggi plans to continue building on corporate and civic organization relationships, as well as providing unique opportunities for individuals in the community to get involved with Special Olympics in Ventura County.

When not working, Peggi enjoys riding her horse, Boomerang, renovating her home, and the company of her rescued Dalmatian, Dalton.
