JAKE CARD, REGIONAL SPORTS MANAGER
The newest member of Special Olympics Ventura County, Jake started on August 27, 2007. A graduate of California Lutheran University, Jake has a BA in Social Sciences and holds a teaching credential. He came from Stoneridge Preparatory School in Simi Valley where he taught US History, World History, Economics and Spanish.
His sports background includes head freshman baseball coach at Adolfo Camarillo High School, defensive football coordinator and offensive/defensive linemen coach, assistant baseball coach, and head girls basketball coach for Thousand Oaks High School.
Jake also is the defensive coordinator for The Badgers, the Ventura County Sheriff's Department's semi-professional football team based in the city of Ventura. Special Olympics Ventura County has been a past recipient of the proceeds of their annual Pride Bowl.
Jake is responsible for the coordination all of the sports training sites and the five Ventura County hosted competitions, as well as athlete and volunteer recruitment, coaches education, and outreach programs. Jake works with all Ventura County's coaches, athletes, and volunteers to continue to provide top quality sports programs.
Jake lives in Camarillo, and in his spare time he enjoys Dodger baseball, UCLA Football, and spending time with friends and family.
